Job Description

Reporting into the Chief People Officer, and an integral member of the HR Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Talent Acquisition.
Innovation will be at the core of the Talent Acquisition approach, leveraging technology and analytics to find cutting edge ways of identifying the best talent for the Bank whilst also ensuring a 'best in class', customer focused resourcing service, that supports the delivery of business objectives through an aligned resourcing and Talent Acquisition strategy.
The role holder will be a passionate and credible advocate for diversity and inclusion ensuring UKIB is taking action that has a positive impact on our existing and future people, our clients and our communities and raises the Bank's diversity and inclusion profile. * Own, design and implement UKIB's Talent Acquisition strategy. Promote and embed the approach with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the Bank, demonstrating a clear alignment to UKIB's Employee Value Proposition and wider talent strategy.
  • Collaborate and interface with the Senior HR Leadership Team, ExCo and other senior stakeholders. Develop annual Talent Acquisition and attraction strategies which allow the different functions to effectively identify and attract talent (permanent, secondees and contingent labour hiring).

  • Fully optimise recruitment system to design, configure and present a suite of regular reports on Talent Acquisition metrics, diversity statistics, and the impact of D&I initiatives on the UKIB.

  • Own, manage and continuously improve processes and policies which underpin effective Talent Acquisition, defining clear targets and KPIs to measure the success of the resourcing function for all permanent and contingent labour hiring.

  • Build an exceptional candidate journey through each step of the process building in feedback loops to enable data gathering for continuous improvement.

  • Optimise use of candidate and recruitment tools such as social media and LinkedIn (including creating engaging content related to resourcing). Staying abreast of recruitment technologies and trends to continually improve and optimize the hiring process.

  • Accountable for ensuring that Talent Acquisition practices and diversity and inclusion initiatives comply with relevant employment laws including IR35 legislation the Equality Act and UKIB policies.

  • Collaborate and partner with the Procurement function to compliantly manage UKIB's strategic resourcing partners through approved government procurement frameworks, building strong relationships with local, specialist and executive search agencies.

  • Own and manage the resourcing budget, identify cost saving opportunities (i.e. through contingent labour hiring), demonstrate a commitment to managing public money, and encourage efficiencies in spend to allow greater flexibility in how the Bank utilises resources.

  • Actively lead, manage and build positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactively research, review and tactically embed industry best practice, market leading and emerging trends as well as innovative approaches in both Talent Acquisition and diversity and inclusion.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Head of Talent Acquisition, EVP and ED&I' should have:
Knowledge:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of successfully leading an in-house recruitment function/team within financial services and/or a public sector organisation
  • Robust knowledge and understanding of UK employment law, specifically the Equality Act and the impact the Equality Act has on the workplace and wider HR initiatives.
  • Evidence of developing and maintaining an external network of DEI specialists, community partners, organisations and formal bodies, using own knowledge and expertise to shape the Bank's DEI strategy.
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent


Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present, influence and represent the organisation externally and internally.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and commitment to deliver on deadlines and priorities.
  • The confidence and ability to provide advice, guidance and constructive challenge to colleagues at all levels.
  • The ability to manage conflict, concerns and varied viewpoints.
  • Proven ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues at all levels, clients and external partners.
  • Ability to work, innovate and problem solve in ambiguous, high pace situations.


Exposure:

  • Substantial resourcing expertise gained within financial services or professional services.
  • Recruitment within the public sector/government organisations, desirable but not essential.
  • Significant skill with integrating an employer brand into the wider resourcing strategy.
  • Significant skill with conceptualising, implementing and embedding key resourcing projects.
  • Expertise of managing and using the Workday recruitment module, desirable but not essential.
  • Confident and competent in analysing, interpreting and reporting data for use in developing relevant DEI plans and actions.
  • Demonstrable DEI experience and implementing initiatives to attract diverse talent.
