Head Of Technical - Paints And Coatings

Metalis is working in partnership with an independent company who, due to retirement plans are looking for a Head of Technical, who's role could, for the right person, progress to Technical Director.

This company is expanding their product range constantly and are working to increase their export to the USA and India.

Person

This role requires a skilled technical person with a background of problem solving at formulation, production, commercial and leadership level. The position requires at least 10 years technical experience preferably in the Coatings Industry, with a proven track record of leadership across different technical disciplines.

Duties

• Managing direct reports over the following;
• R&D - The position has responsibility over 3 Chemists that deliver production support, new product development, troubleshooting technical issues, quality control of colour collateral and formulation maintenance.
• QA, Technical Services, QC and Product Development.
• QC - Responsible for the quality of paints going out of the business, monitoring plant hygiene and process improvements on the plant.
