About the Role
The Head of Technical Projects will be pivotal in managing a plethora of IT projects from conception to fruition. A role that merges technical acumen with superior project management capabilities, ensuring projects meet their objectives timely and economically. You'll form agile teams from a Resource Management perspective, define technology leading to SAS, and offer end-to-end solutions ranging from Infrastructure to Software Enablement, all while synchronising with our agile Dev Teams. Drawing the right talent at opportune moments is crucial, and so is the synergy with key stakeholders such as the CTO, Scrum Master, Principal Platform Lead, and Security Team lead. Building these relationships is essential to spawn capability. This role reports into the CTO.
Key Objectives:
- Spin up and steer a team of project enhancers and technical specialists.
- Construct and employ project management protocols, methodologies, and best practices.
- In collaboration with stakeholders, shape the project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Draft comprehensive project blueprints, timelines, and financial plans.
- Continuously monitor project trajectories, pinpoint potential pitfalls, and strategise solutions.
- Align with technical teams to guarantee project execution success.
- Manage project finances, resources, and schedules.
- Secure efficient communication channels with stakeholders and report regularly.
- Cultivate an environment of continuous enhancement in project management processes.
- Guide and nurture team members to refine their project management expertise.
- Keep abreast with the latest trends and practices in IT project management.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field.
- Demonstrable success in IT project management, accompanied by leadership experience
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication prowess.
- Skills to inspire, drive, and oversee a team.
- A history of delivering IT projects punctually and within financial bounds.
- Familiarity with ITIL, network security, and Hypervisor frameworks.
- Strong technical expertise in relevant technologies.
- Certifications like PRINCE2 Foundation or Requirements Engineering are advantageous.
- An understanding of disaster recovery and system administration.
- Fluency in project management software and tools.
- Infrastructure Technologies - Hypervisor, Telephony, Security.
