Health and Safety Advisor – GBP43,000 to GBP46,000 – Birmingham
Venn Group is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor for a large organisation based in the Birmingham area. This role can pay a salary between GBP43k and GBP46k depending on experience, as well as an excellent benefits package
The successful candidate will have responsibility for developing and maintaining safety management systems, reviewing and refreshing existing policies and processes, as well as developing the safety management strategy, promoting best practice and ensuring full compliance whilst reinforcing a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
Working with the senior leadership team to develop, implement and manage Health and Safety leadership and technical expertise in the form of written policies, guidelines and procedures, verbal communications and practical involvement fulfilling the legal requirement of competent person To participate in the development, progression and implementation of the site safety management system, and to attend whole Team H&S meetings and Biosafety meetings in order to promote the philosophy and obtain feedback to ensure consistency in standards and approach To interpret and ensure appropriate application of UK H&S legislation and incorporate them into H&S policies and guidelines Take ownership of the site Environment, Health & Safety. Environment (EHS) self–inspection programmes and perform self–inspection audits. Generate written reports to management Working with the training team, ensure adequate provision of H&S training for employees, through external training providers and development and delivery of 'in–house' training packages Participate in, train and give guidance on team inspections and audits, giving guidance to the management audit team Essential experience/qualifications:
Certificate in Safety Management (NEBOSH diploma level) or equivalent Evidence of recent in–service training/skills updating/CPDExtensive experience of working in a large complex organisation in a safety related roleExperience of developing and delivering Health and Safety trainingExperience of setting, monitoring and achieving organisational standards and targetsExperience of Health and Safety auditing systems To apply for this position, please forward an updated version of your CV to jpatel or contact Jay Patel on , quotingthe job title.
