Are you a NEOSH/IOSH qualified Health and Safety professional seeking a part time role? Based in either Devon or Somerset, you will be able to travel to other offices in the South West. Flexible and Hybrid working options are available for this 14.5 hour a week permanent position
Responsibilities for the Part Time Health and Safety Officer
- Upkeep and delivery of all in-house Health and Safety training materials
- Co-ordination, completion, and monitoring of new starters and annual DSE training including follow up
- Attendance at Quarterly new starter meeting to complete Health and Safety new starters brief
- Production of Health and Safety communications including ad hoc Viva Engage updates and monthly report for the Management Board
- First Aider monitoring and training coordination
- Completion of all general Health and Safety-related risk assessments and supporting office lead Partners on completion of local assessments
- Selection, coordination, and monitoring of external Health and Safety-related contractors including fire, electrical, and asbestos
- Co-ordination of all fire risk & electrical assessments (including PAT Testing), asbestos & legionella reviews and surveys
- Monitoring of individual office completion of Health and Safety routines
- Point of contact for all Health and Safety queries.
Requirements of the Part-Time Health and Safety Officer
- Full driving licence and access to own transport is essential
- At least 2 years of previous or current Health and Safety experience
- Minimum of NEBOSH / IOSH (or other H&S qualification) required, plus ideally Fire Safety and Asbestos qualifications
- Ability to articulate Health and Safety requirements/proposals efficiently and pragmatically
- Passionate about all areas of Health and Safety
- Outgoing and socially confident
- A positive attitude, friendly, and approachable
- Resilient, able to multi-task, and work independently / flexibly
- Adaptable, organised, and conscientious
- Takes the initiative, ability to prioritise, and meet deadlines
- Discreet, professional, and team-orientated in approach
- Ability to learn new IT skills quickly and good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
