NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental Health Care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is rotational, dayshifts and nightshifts over 7 days (18 hours).

As part of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will carry out routine personal care duties for patients in support of and supervised by a registered nurse. They will carry out assigned duties to maintain patient safety within the ward environment such as maintain stock levels of all supplies and carry out housekeeping duties, to support the smooth running of the ward area.
Ward 3C within the Royal Hospital for Children is a 14 bedded ward receiving elective and emergency patients from birth to 16 years of age. We see a variety of patients including orthopaedics, respiratory and major trauma.
Knowledge, training and experience required:
- Familiarity with hospital environment
- Knowledge and understanding of hospital and departmental policies that affect day to day activities e.g. Health and safety, Moving and Handling, Infection Control,
- Environmental Cleanliness Standards, Monitoring Tools, Safety of Medical gases, COSHH Regs, Fire safety and Evacuation Training.
- Demonstrate an ability to develop and maintain effective and efficient administrative monitoring and recording systems and have an understanding of basic computer systems.
- Awareness and understanding of hospital acquired Infection principles and its prevention
