The shift pattern is 0830- 2000 flexible.
Job Purpose:
To support the sexual health nursing and medical staff to provide high quality care in an efficient clinical environment. The post holder will be accountable to the registered nurse and will be required to work within the scope and standards of practice for HealthCare Support Workers within the Sandyford services.
The post holder will:
- To maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control standards and maintain stock levels within clinical rooms.
- To undertake stock ordering, storage and ensure stock rotation.
- Have knowledge of stock rotation including the principles of storage and safe storage of medicines.
- To act as chaperone and support patients during intimate examinations and procedures
- Prepare clinical rooms, setting up and decontaminating equipment for clinical procedures including vasectomy and gynaecology clinics.
- Ensure clinic environment is established prior to each session to facilitate an effective, efficient and safe service.
- Cleaning and checking equipment to comply with Health and Safety and Infection Control policies.
- Preparation of specimens prior to transportation to external laboratories and ensuring clinical areas meet risk assessment specification.
- Maintain pharmacy/stores stock thus ensuring staff have necessary equipment to provide quality care.
- Stocking of clinical rooms with client information leaflets, medicines and stock control of pharmacy supplies and sundries. Assist both nursing and medical staff to undertake duties to ensure the clinical environment is left safe and clean, including the appropriate management of clinical waste.
