Stonewater are now seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner – someone to work nationally across Stonewater’s development, retrofit and planned construction projects.
In this newly created role, you will support the Head of Corporate Health & Safety in attaining assurance that construction activity is being planned, monitored, and delivered safely, thus ensuring that Stonewater fulfils its duties as Client. You will provide competent advice and work on a national basis, undertaking site safety inspections and Client Health & Safety inspections of both development and live construction sites, to confirm all duty holders are complying with their duties under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDMR) and that all risks are adequately controlled. You will complete thematic and system audits across the Development and Homes directorates to provide assurance that all colleagues are working in accordance with the Groups Health & Safety management system, and support managers and project teams to complete incident and accident investigations, taking a lead on the investigation of RIDDOR events and high potential loss events.
The ideal candidate will:
Be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH). (Graduate membership, working towards full chartered status will be considered for those who can demonstrate experience in role).
Hold a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction.
Hold an ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certificate.
Have demonstrable experience of working within a social housing organisation (or similar).
Be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge regarding Health & Safety statutory instruments, British Standards, and sector guidance relating to construction works.
Have experience of managing and/or working within an ISO 45001 certified management system.
Have experience of carrying out site inspections and audits to identify non-conformance and opportunities for improvement.
Be able to communicate effectively at all levels and produce coherent, written documentation.
Be a people person with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and key internal and external stakeholders.
