Position: Health Safety Manager
Location: Aintree
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
Salary: £35,000-£40,000p/a
HRGO recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced HSE Manager to work for our well-established manufacturing client in Aintree. The ideal candidates will support the business, in line with current HSE legislation and best practice meeting with the international standards (ISO's 9001, 14001 45001) and BRCGS issue 6 packaging materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure HSE policies, procedures and documentation are in place for both operatives and sub-contractors,
- Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas of health, safety and welfare, inclusive of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations, providing competent information and advice as required.
- Ensure those with responsibility for health and safety (Managers, Supervisors, Subcontractors) comply with their responsibilities, promoting a positive health and safety culture.
- Communicate Health and Safety information to the Client, Supervisors, Operators and sub-contractors through various mediums to ensure full understanding of issues and procedures.
- Provision of reports/statistics to senior management, managers and staff forum meetings.
- Maintain accreditations in BRCGS and ISO standards.
- Produce Construction Phase Health and Safety plans for notifiable projects.
- Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date accident and 'near-miss record, ensuring that all accidents/incidents are documented and where necessary a thorough accident investigation is carried out, with managed actions thereafter.
- Oversee that site audits, are undertaken by the relevant Managers, Supervisors, and sub-contractors, ensuring that action plans are implemented and monitored where necessary.
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of a Manufacturing Environment.
- Knowledge of Health & safety to IOSHH/NEBOSH level desirable.
- Strong decision-making/problem-solving and motivational skills.
- Accident prevention.
- Risk assessment good understanding of the technical skills required of operatives working in a
- Ability to implement fully company policies and processes.
- Strong IT skills (Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge) - demonstrating the ability to extract data and use it.
- Ability to write and communicate comprehensive health and safety reports.
- Clean driving licence.
