SalaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 8 Queen Margaret Hospital for a health care Support Worker to join our team
We are looking for motivated, supportive and hardworking individual to who is committed to assisting nursing staff deliver a high standard of person centered care to both patients and their families.
Patients in Ward 8 QMH is for patients whose discharge pathway has been determined and are requiring complex discharge planning. We work closely as a multidisciplinary team to provide a safe environment for patients.
We offer training opportunities and pathways to allow the successful candidate to learn and develop.
There is a rotational shift pattern in operation consisting of day shift and night shift over 7 days per week. The ward currently works a 12.5 hour shift pattern.
If successful in your application, you will be offered the opportunity to undertake an SVQ2 or SVQ3 (dependent on band) in Health and Social Care, approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
