SalaryBackline Logistics have an exciting opportunity for an HGV Class 1/2 Driver for abnormal load transport, collections and deliveries, for our prestigious Plymouth client. Whilst Class 1 abnormal load experience would be advantageous, it is not required. Experience with wide loads is essential. Full training on Abnormal Loads and articulated rear steer trailers will be provided to the right candidate. You will be expected to carry out other duties on either Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles when not moving Abnormal Loads. Being physically fit is essential as there will be consistent heavy lifting.
Standard hours of work are Monday-Thursday 06:30am to 16:30pm, however you will be expected to start from 01:30am onwards when police escorts of loads are required. 8.5 hours minimum pay per day, starting from 14.38 per hour with an extra 3.11 hourly shift premium for night shifts. This role will be on a temporary to permanent basis.
THE REQUIREMENTS
You must hold a full UK Class 1 / Category C+E Licence & Class 2/ Category C licence with a maximum of 3 penalty points.
You must have had previous HGV Class 1 Wide load experience.
Previous Abnormal load transport experience is preferred but not essential.
You must hold a current and valid CPC and digital tachograph card.
Possess a broad knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
Be clean and professional at all times.
Possess good written and spoken communication skills.
Positive Attitude.
Able to work in a fast paced environment.
Health & Safety conscious.
Must be physically fit and healthy as heavy lifting will be involved.
