Hgv class 1 tramper Mon-Fri Flatbeds & Curtains

Due to contract gains, we are seeking professional tramper drivers at our site in Barnsley. These are permanent positions. The role is Monday to Friday however you must be flexible as there is a requirement for the odd Saturday morning run in (enhanced pay rates apply), and start times vary according to the job.

Health & Safety awareness is a must, as is exceptional tachograph discipline, along with high driving standards. You will be responsible for the safe operation and roadworthiness of the vehicle you are allocated to drive and the safety & security of the load you are transporting. Above all though, you must be willing to get stuck in , with a 'get the job done' attitude. You must be respectful of the allocated vehicle and ensure its cleanliness both in & out at all times.

We are a FORS accredited haulier - you may be required to undergo additional training.

We operate a fleet of both flatbeds and curtain siders so you must be willing to work with
both, the work includes construction materials including steels, concretes etc. therefore securing of loads will include chaining.

Essential skills:

1 year driving experience minimum for insurance purposes

FULL understanding of EU drivers hours and working time directive

Valid DCPC

Ability to carry out thorough pre use checks and report when necessary

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work as part of a team but also on your own initiative

Flexible, highly motivated

Able to learn new information and follow instruction when required

Experience is essential for this role

No DR or IN licence codes and no more than 6 points

20 days holiday which increases with length of service (3 of which are retained for xmas shutdown) + bank hols.
