As an HGV Technician in Ripley, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the fleet of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Perform routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire replacements.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults with precision and efficiency.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment and tools effectively to identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Complete all repair and maintenance tasks accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including parts used and hours worked, for accurate reporting and billing purposes.
- Collaborate with other members of the workshop team to ensure smooth operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment
Experience essential for this role:
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, with a strong background in HGV maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work on a 4 on 4 off rota basis, including both day and night shifts.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
