At The Butts Primary School, we aim to secure outstanding outcomes for all of our pupils, and so are looking for an HLTA who:
- has a secure knowledge of primary education and meets the HLTA standards. Whilst the HLTA qualification is not essential, we would expect applicants to be willing to work towards it.

- values the importance of children learning in an outdoor environment during all seasons
- has the creativity to design activities for the year group to encourage this and engage children;
- knows and is interested in how children learn;
- uses their initiative to bring the best out in children;
- knows the importance of keeping children safe;
- has high expectations for themselves and their pupils;
- is a team player, able to inspire and work in partnership with staff, parents and pupils
- is able to work unsupervised to deliver lesson plans, manage pupil behaviour and make judgements about pupil progress/needs without reference to the teacher
- is able to provide training and support to other staff as appropriate
Our Teaching Assistant Team work in close partnership with class teachers and our Inclusion Leader (SENDCo) to promote learning for all children. Experience of undertaking whole class teaching and learning in the absence of the class teacher would be of benefit.

Applicants should have:
- at least 2 years relevant experience of working in a teaching and learning environment
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
