This is our anticipated salary from 1st April but is subject to final confirmation following the Trust’s annual pay review process.

You’ll be part of the Holidays Team based at the busy Currendon Farm Office, near Studland, an office space that is shared with other teams working in the Purbeck area. No two days will be the same. Your days will be busy, dynamic, and demanding with a mix of office work and cottage site visits. You will need to ensure that cover is provided across six days of the week, and you will be required to work two Saturdays each month.
What you'll be doingAs Holidays Operation Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for 19 unique holiday cottages located across Purbeck, Brownsea Island, the Kingston Lacy estate and Portland House in Weymouth. You will report to the Holidays Operation Manager and ensure that the team meets the high standards expected from our guests, and that our historic and unique cottages are cared for to the ultimate standard.
Daily you will work alongside another Holidays Operation Assistant Manager and Team Leader dealing with guest incidents and ensuring that they are resolved swiftly and efficiently; completing health and safety compliance checks/reports; managing reactive repairs, planning maintenance, and checking that contractors deliver on schedule to a high standard; and ensuring that the guests are delighted with their stay.
You will be responsible for a team of 12 part time Holiday Operation Assistants, enabling them to deliver the high standards of housekeeping outlined in the National Trust Holidays Toolkit, and 2 part time gardening staff. You'll help to recruit new staff, providing clear induction and training.

- as a determined and persistent problem solver, your approach will be proactive, and you will be used to remaining calm and resilient when faced with difficult challenges.
- you will have experience of efficient multi-tasking, you will be able to prioritise your own workload to ensure the overall team goals are achieved on time and to the agreed standard.
- you will know how to efficiently prioritise daily tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.
- you will have effective record keeping skills to support your productivity, and some experience of IT systems.
- you will be prepared to work both in a busy office environment and out in remote locations.
- as a responsible individual you are used to taking ownership of projects and being a complete finisher.
- you’ll have some supervisory experience and will work efficiently with the strengths of the existing team.
