Qualification -
Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English or equivalent (essential)
Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in Maths or equivalent (essential)
Hold a teaching qualification, ideally to Level 5 (subject specialism) or willingness to work towards
Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.
These courses include:
- Functional Skills maths (Entry Level to Level 2)
- GCSE maths
- Level 3 Core maths
- Context specific courses including financial literacy
Key Responsibilities:
- To assess learners and work accurately against appropriate awarding body criteria/key course targets to ensure learners achieve their qualifications/course goals.
- To comply with safeguarding procedures.
- To take course leadership responsibilities.
- To take part in team meetings and working groups.
- To ensure close liaison and good communications with other staff in matters concerning learners.
- To comply with the service quality assurance procedures.
- To comply with the service policies and procedures including maintaining records on learners including attendance and achievement.
- To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up to date in the subject area and administration processes.
- To Positively represent the MAES both internally and externally at all times.
