Housing Manager
Durham - Mercury House, Belmont and in the communities with our customers
Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw), Monday to Friday
Starting salary £28,000 per annum and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

This is a great job opportunity for a Housing Manager to join Home Group and work within the Teesside, Durham & Sunderland Region. This is the perfect job for you if you like variety and delivering excellent services to our customers and communities.
Typical day as a Housing Manager
- Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll really get to get to know our communities.
- You will be proactively managing anti-social behaviour in our estates, responding to customer queries and complaints.
- You will carry out estate inspections, engaging and meeting with contractors on site, as well as carrying out and recording the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.
- You’ll manage arrears cases working from low level cases to then potentially attending court hearings for rent, and at time compliance.
- You’ll form close relationships with both external agencies and internal departments.

About You
- Have worked in housing before and understand housing management, housing law and in an ideal world, universal credit too!
- Experience in any specific function of housing management such as rent, anti-social behaviour or lettings would be desirable.
- Super organised and methodical in your approach, you’re also a proactive self-starter with a “can do” positive attitude.
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine desire to help your customers.
- This job can challenge, especially when we’re dealing with complaints, but your resilience will help you through.
- Confident working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MP’s etc
- Like being part of a team but appreciate that this is a role where you’ll spend most of your time working in our local estates.
Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role.  This remains under regular review.

Job details
- This is a hybrid role, you’ll spend days working from our community patches, in the local office and the flexibility to work from home.
- We mostly work Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 but are open to
- To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
- You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we’ll pay for that.
