Job description

Purpose of this Position

You will work closely with key stakeholders within the business to provide HR expertise and support in all areas of the employee lifecycle. The role involves delivering effective day-to-day support in areas such as disciplinary & grievance processes, absence & performance management, and consultations (including redundancy and changes to terms and conditions). Additionally, you will participate in site/group strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment: Manage recruitment campaigns on platforms like Indeed and LinkedIn, and coordinate with external agencies. Handle temporary recruitment as needed.
  • Interviewing: Coordinate and conduct interviews.
  • Absence Management: Manage sickness absences and return-to-work interviews, liaising with Occupational Health when needed.
  • HR Records: Keep HR records updated, including Breathe HR, Qualifications Tracker, and appraisal records.
  • Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new staff.
  • Contracts: Draft employment contracts, amendments, and communication letters.
  • Timesheets: Collect and submit timesheets for temporary staff weekly.
  • Payroll: Update payroll with changes, new starters, and leavers weekly and monthly.
  • Employee Relations: Advise and support stakeholders on employee relations issues.
  • HR Projects: Support various HR projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent
  • HR/Business Degree or equivalent
Skills and Attributes
  • Good knowledge of employment law and key HR policies.
  • Detail-oriented with strong proofing and editing skills.
  • Proactive, customer-focused, and passionate about HR.
  • Discreet, diplomatic, and able to handle confidential information.
  • Capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines independently.
  • Strong IT skills, especially in HRIS and Microsoft Office (Word, SharePoint, Excel).
  • A collaborative team player.
