Reporting to the interim Group Head of HR, you will be the HR Advisor covering a secondment until November (possibility of extension). The role is full time but 4 days a week will be considered. After initial training, Hybrid working is available, and you can either work in Stockton or Redcar. You MUST be able to hit the ground running, managing complex, and high-level ER cases. Salary is DOE.
An education background is preferable but not essential, although a DBS is required.
Duties include:
- To provide generalist HR advice, guidance, and support to all staff, in line with current employment legislation and the group policies and procedures.
- To provide HR support to line managers on staff disciplinary, capability, absence management, performance and grievance matters (where appropriate more complex cases should be escalated to the Head of Human Resources).
- To develop and deliver staff development sessions on people management topics, such as absence management/capability, effective management of probation etc.
- To regularly liaise with line managers in respect of their ‘People’ data to proactively analyse this to highlight areas of good practice and those where improvements can be made. Sharing best practice from across the group.
- Overseeing and monitoring the staff appraisal process, including training to line managers.
- To carry out new staff inductions as required and new manager inductions.
- To lead on HR projects as directed by the Head of Human Resources, e.g. TUPE etc.
- To recommend changes/updates to The Group policy and procedures to the Head of Human Resources and to assist with the updating of these and roll out/communication of any changes.
- To provide HR support, as required, to line managers on staff absence and welfare issues ensuring regular contact is maintained. Advising on the timing of referrals to occupational health and working closely with managers to implement any recommendations arising, e.g. reasonable adjustments.
