Job Purpose
We are looking for a proactive and driven HR Advisor to join our dedicated HR Central team working within the UK Lucy Group businesses to build strong relationships at all levels. The role will provide a comprehensive, effective and professional HR advisory and support service to employees.
Working in collaboration with the HR Central Team and HRBP’s to ensure the delivery of a seamless and efficient operational service to all areas of the business, developing tools and support materials to empower managers.
Job Context
The role will have operational focused tasks within the Central team and work closely with managers to advise employee relations activity and will advocate best practice and ensure compliance with all Company policies, process and employment legislation:
Coach and guide managers on all policy related issues finding ways to empower managers and enable them to manage their teams effectively (Leave, Occupational Health, Flexible working etc.)
Guiding and supporting managers on disciplinary, grievance and capability processes and timings for action.
Updating Company policies and procedures in timely manner with legislation and business changes.4. Build strong relationships with managers to support and guide them on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who will get stuck into the HR activity, this role is perfect for someone who has solid experience in employee relations, good interpersonal skills and is looking for exposure to wider HR initiatives, whilst also supporting the day-to-day operational activity.
Job Dimensions
This is a full time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This is a hybrid role as per our Working Arrangements Policy and will be based in the Oxford site with travel to Thame.
The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible with their working arrangements.
This role will report to the Senior HR Advisor and will be part of the wider HR Central Team.Key Accountabilities
These will include:
Responsible for supporting and advising the business on employee relations issues including but not limited to dispute resolution, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance management
Advise managers on management practice and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including in Employee Relations issues
Ensure that policy, procedures, and forms are up to date, in line with current legislation and maintained according to ISO standards
Responsible for ensuring the shared drives, employee files and relevant trackers are maintained and up to date
Ensure the HR system (Oracle) is kept up to date and accurate and provide reports from Oracle on request
Ensure all employees have the right to work, and DBS checks
Oversee all aspects of the Employee lifecycle, including but not limited to induction and onboarding, contractual changes, development, benefits and leaver process including exit interviews
Overseeing the payroll inputting and processing for dedicated businesses
Support and mentor the HR Coordinator
Check and manage the HR Central inbox responding promptly to all queries
Monitoring absence and absence management activity
Supporting with annual processes including salary review
Support with regular internal audits
Assist in the delivery of effective employee communications in collaboration with HR Team and business managers. To help promote a self service approach to managers and employees, ensuring key information is in place on the local HR intranet pages and regularly updating these in line with service requirements.
Supporting the wider HR Central team with HR operational activities and project work
Keep up to date and share best practice on employment law activity.Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Ideally qualified to CIPD Level 3, working towards level 5
HR experience in a generalist role
Experience of managing and advising on Employee Relations activities including but not limited to Performance Management, Grievances, Disciplinaries, Absence Management
Up to date knowledge of employment law
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice and experienced in its application to employee relations case work (absence, disciplinary, grievance, flexible working, etc)
A commercial, risk aware and driven mindset
The ability to work under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointExcellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Experience
Worked in a Manufacturing and Engineering Environment
