Job description

Our client is one of the largest independently owned construction, infrastructure and support services companies in the UK.

An opportunity has arisen for a HR Advisor to join the existing team, to support the Senior HR Advisor in providing efficient HR employee relations support ensuring the effective delivery of proactive, business focused HR support and advice.

The successful candidate will ideally be CIPD Level 5 qualified (minimum Level 3) and wil have extensive experience within Employee Relations due to the role focusing heavily on investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.

Main duties will inlude, but are not limited to;

  • Deliver an effective HR service to the assigned business areas, assisting People Leaders to understand and implement policies and procedures and in line with best practice in people management.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with business leaders and managers to monitor HR practices and ensure compliance providing professional advice and guidance.
  • Support in the delivery of projects on the People Strategy and plan to ensure that the HR agenda is moved forward.
  • Support in the development and implementation of HR policies and process, including but not limited to; disciplinary & grievance, performance management, absence management, redundancy, TUPE and on-boarding.
  • Represent the department at relevant business meetings.
  • Assist on HR projects as delegated by the Head of HR and Regional HR Advisor.
  • Supporting People Leaders in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues such as attendance review meetings, performance management, grievance, disciplinary, restructures and redundancies and re-evaluation of posts, in accordance with both policies and procedures and best practice.
  • Support the wider RFM HR Team with TUPE programmes, including preparation, consultation and ensuring the relevant legislation is complied with, both at bid stage and throughout the process.
  • Work with trade unions and contract partners as appropriate at all stages of the process.
