Pertemps are recruiting a HR Assistant to join their client in Duns. The primary purpose of the role is to support a wide range of HR related activity to support the employee experience whilst ensuring compliance to employment legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HR queries via face-to-face interactions, email, and telephone.
- Provide timely and accurate advice to assist managers with employee opportunities and concerns.
- Oversee employee relations casework, including investigations and flexible working requests.
- Manage sickness absences and handle all associated administrative tasks.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees.
- Analyze HR processes to identify and implement improvements.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly HR reports.
- Assist the HR Advisor/HR Business Partner with various ad hoc projects.
- Maintain data in SAP, draft letters, file documents, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
- Note: This list is not exhaustive and responsibilities may evolve in line with the role.
About You:
- Essential: Previous HR experience with a solid understanding of employment legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in IT, including SAP and Microsoft Office, with a good grasp of HR systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Commercially and customer-aware, with a strong focus on quality.
- Capable of handling confidential and sensitive information with respect.
- HR qualification is desirable but not required.
- In-depth knowledge of employment law.
- Positive and proactive "can-do" attitude.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Skilled in managing change.
