Hr Consultant

I am looking for a People and Organisation Development Partner/ HR Consultant for a 4-month assignment (with potential for extension) to undertake a broad diagnostic for a large public sector organisation which is responsible for delivering a range of public health services, such as immunisation, screening, infection prevention and control, and health protection.
This role will suit a high calibre individual, who is comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and capable of providing support and challenge to senior management.
You will be a member of the People & OD team, working within a designated area of the organisation. Working closely with the Directorate People & OD Partner and Assistant Partner, the post holder will report to the Head of People & OD Partnering, who will support them to succeed in the role and deliver this project.
As an HR Consultant you will:
* Work closely with the Executive Director, Divisional Directors, senior managers, and operational colleagues, to identify and address people-management issues and challenges
* Conduct HR assessments that will include a review of various sources of data, insights and documents and evaluate existing approaches to OD and people matters, to understand organisational and team needs and challenges
* Undertake analysis and diagnostics to identify requirements, areas for improvement and optimisation
* Collaborate with People & OD colleagues to create and/or commission tailored HR & OD solutions
* Develop proposals and recommendations, including a prioritised action plan for the short, medium, and long term
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Proven experience in HR consultancy, business partnering or professional services
* Experience of managing projects to completion with a robust project management / planning approach
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate varying sources of data
* Skilful communication to engage effectively with stakeholders, managers, and peers; to understand what matters most, communicate with credibility and authority, with an ability to confidently handle difficult conversations
* Ability to understand the strategic picture and translate this into potential action, tailored solutions and fulfil requirements
* Excellent report writing skills
* A high level of self-motivation, initiative, and resilience
* You will be largely self-managing and be able to work at pace.
* Collaborative and willing at the same time to challenge the status quo
Desired Criteria
* Solutions focussed and proactive, looking at new or different ways of working
* Working knowledge and experience of specialist OD
* NHS HR or OD Experience
* CIPD or OD qualifications beneficial
* Curious and analytical when it comes to assessing how we can improve our services
This is a temporary assignment for 4 months, working full-time, 37. 5 hours flexibly Monday - Friday, with an immediate start. The organisation offers a flexible hybrid working model, which is a mixture of remote working, office work and on-site work when needed at sites across Wales.
The salary range is £51,000 - £58,000, dependent on experience.
