Our client, a long-established Civil Engineering Contractor who are looking for a HSEQ Advisor who can support to their business in order to maintain higher standard of HSEQ.
This is a permanent position, candidate will be based in Head office in West London; required, site visits as necessary.
The HSEQ Advisor is responsible & accountable for:
- To support and assist the HSEQ Manager in the management and implementation of all HSEQ policies and procedures throughout the organisation.
- To assist in the continued development and improvement of the current management system
- To communicate and liaise with other departments regarding health, safety, environmental and quality data, and information.
- Assist the HSEQ Manager in conducting site inspections and provide guidance on health and safety observations.
- Conduct site EHS & Quality audits on sites when requested by the HSEQ Manager
- To support senior management in driving a positive health and safety culture both within the organisation and external parties who work on behalf of the organisation.
- Devise toolbox and bulletins on various subjects when requested by the HSEQ Manager
- Excellent report writing skills are essential for documenting safety activities.
- Maintaining our Fleet and ISO management systems.
- Collate statistical data such as accident statistics and near miss reporting data.
- Assist the HSEQ Manager in collating information in relation to any accident, incident, or close call where an investigation is required when requested.
- Provide employees with assistance and guidance in relation to policies and procedures to ensure that company systems are followed.
- Attend Pre-Start, Client & Sub-Contractor Meetings when requested by the HSEQ Manager
- Additional tasks may be assigned by the HSEQ Manager
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
Essential requirements
- NEBOSH general certificate, or equivalent
- Degree in CEnv, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience within a civil engineering environment
- Effective communicator with strong presentation and report writing skills
- Client facing experience Analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations
- High standard of written English
- Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines
- Good knowledge on ISO (phone number removed) & 45001 accreditations and maintenance of each Management system.
- Good communication skills, including professional telephone manner
- Ability to liaise with staff and operatives at all levels
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office package
- CSCS Safety Professional card
- Ability to work as a member of a team, but also capable of working alone High quality standards, e.g. attention to detail
- Ability to lead by/set a good example
