Title of the position: HSE Advisor                      

Department: HSQE

Directly reports to: HSQE Director

Consults with: All departments at Regular Cleaning, all colleagues, clients, service partners & suppliers.

 Overall responsibility

Assisting with all duties relating to the health, safety and environment for Regular Cleaning and as directed by the HSQE Director. Support Account Directors, and operational teams by providing timely health, safety and environmental advice on client sites, review risk assessments, conduct site audits and to ensure legislative requirements and internal management standards are met. To assess, review and advise on the welfare and wellbeing of our colleagues to ensure they are safe and are working safely and sustainably. To maintain Continual Professional Development (CPD) and communicate current trends and risk to Account Directors and operational teams to drive forward a positive and inclusive HSE culture.

Key areas of responsibility

•    Support Regular Cleaning Health, Safety and Environmental Management systems, identify and communicate potential risks to drive a positive HSE culture across the company. 
•    Carry out site visits in line with the site visit plan and/or as directed.
•    Audit company operations on client sites to evaluate and to ensure compliance with current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation, company and client policies and procedures. 
•    Conduct ongoing risk assessment reviews, ensuring the adequacy of Risk Assessments and Method Statements of each site and, where necessary, amend accordingly. Ensuring control measures are effective and are communicated to all relevant people. 
•    Conduct on site, task specific reviews to ensure all company operations/procedures are compliant and have been implemented effectively.
•    Ensure materials are stored appropriately and in accordance with company COSHH procedures and conduct equipment PAT testing when necessary to ensure equipment is serviceable.
•    Support the HSQE and Vertical Cleaning Directors by reviewing, issuing/completing permits to work in client portals. 
•    Support People Relations with Occupational Health arrangements, pregnancy risk assessment, DSE and on-site welfare visits as required. 
•    Conduct and lead accident/incident investigations to prevent reoccurrence, identify and mitigate further risk, identify training deficiencies, procedural or policy amendments and effectively communicate opportunities to improve HSE performance. 
•    Effectively communicate risk and opportunities to improve HSE management systems to reduce risk and increase management system effectiveness. 
•    Assist with the internal HSE audit of all company policies and procedures as directed by the HSQE Director.
•    Support the delivery of our Sustainability Strategy, including social value projects, Net Zero by 30 target, annual sustainability report and thought leadership content.
•    Promote Regular Cleaning colleague initiatives such as Regular Rewards, training platforms, social media, Social Value initiatives etc.

The duties listed above are not conclusive and you may be required to carry out duties in addition to the above in order to meet the needs of the client, the company or your team.

Necessary qualifications, skills, and experience

•    High degree of customer service, confidentiality, and professionalism
•    Organised, methodical, proactive with excellent time management. 
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office package
•    A high standard of verbal and written English (ESOL Level 2 or GCSE A to C grade)
•    Ability to communicate advice, instructions, and information clearly and concisely.
•    Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Level 3 qualification.
•    Hold a recognised level 3 environmental qualification (IEMA/NEBOSH)
•    Internal auditor to ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001.
•    Pro-active with the ability to assist with training and auditing tasks.
•    Experience of working or managing work at height and of permit to work systems.
