Summary
Climate17 are working with a fast-growing global IPP who build, own and operate a portfolio of onshore renewable energy generation assets, including wind and solar PV.
Owing to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Health, Safety and Environment Manager to successfully implement and oversee the company's HSE strategy on their portfolio of onshore wind and solar assets across Europe, LATAM and the wider Asia Pacific.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with the organisation's business goals, regulatory requirements and HSE industry best practices, across all phases of our renewables projects and operations.
- Collaborate with senior management to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and decision-making processes.
- Ensure the organisation's operations and projects adhere to all local, regional, and national HSE regulations.
- Execute and document audits and inspections to ensure effectiveness of HSE programmes, whilst actioning any findings.
- Engage and manage contractors , including monitoring compliance with HSE plans, local regulations, project permits, and licenses during all project and operational activities.
- Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and local communities, to address HSE concerns and build relationships.
- Establish and maintain procedures for reporting, investigating, and analysing HSE incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
- Develop and implement training programs to educate employees and third parties
- Support tendering activities to ensure HSE areas are sufficiently covered.
- Stay updated on relevant HSE regulations and standards
- Be responsible for the global company risk review; conducting thorough risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of identified risks.
- Traveling internationally to various project and asset locations will be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, alternatively relevant training and/or experience.
- Minimum 5 years of utility scale wind and solar projects and 10 years HSE experience of large-scale international projects.
- Experience in HSE management of utility scale projects throughout project lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset; ability to assess risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
- Professional certifications or knowledge in HSE field, i.e. NEBOSH, CDM, ISO standards.
- Experience of working in LATAM.
Location: London, Oslo or Rio de Janeiro - hybrid, office and international travel as req.
