Role Summary

To excel in this role, you must have exceptional communication and organisational skills. You must be able to handle confidential information with discretion. Although a background in Human Resources or a related field would be helpful, it is not always required. In addition, you will manage and maintain HR-related documents such as job descriptions, performance evaluations, and employee files. Assist in coordinating employee training programs and keep attendance records. You will also handle payroll administration, including processing employee timesheets, tracking leave balances, and handling payroll inquiries.

Duties and responsibilities:


  • Contract management: You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and processing employee contracts, and ensuring they are in compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • File organisation: You will be responsible for maintaining HR-related files, including job descriptions, performance evaluations, and employee records, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.

  • Background checks: You will be responsible for conducting pre-employment background checks, verifying employment and education history, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed.

  • Booking travel: You may be responsible for booking travel arrangements for employees, including flights, trains and hotels ensuring they are within company budget and policy guidelines.

  • Working with the HR Officer/Generalist and Manager: You will be working closely with the HR Officer and Manager to assist them in various tasks, such as coordinating onboarding, handling employee relations issues, and managing HR-related projects.

  • Assisting in payroll: You will be responsible for assisting in payroll administration, including processing employee timesheets, tracking leave balances, and handling payroll inquiries.

  • Answering employee questions: You will be responsible for answering employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.

  • Supporting recruitment activities: You may be responsible for scheduling interviews, posting job advertisements, and coordinating the recruitment process.

  • Maintaining HR-related databases: You will be responsible for maintaining HR-related databases, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.

  • Conducting exit interviews: You will be responsible for conducting exit interviews with employees who are leaving the company, gathering feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Any other task requested by the HR Manager


    Overall, as an HR Administrator, you will be responsible for providing support to the HR team in various administrative tasks related to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee relations, ensuring that the HR department runs smoothly and efficiently.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: HND in Business or HR related course

    Preferred Education: BA Business/Human Resources or CIPD Level 3/5

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 1+ years as a HR assistant or Administration role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Careful eye for detail.

  • Motivated and enthusiastic character.

  • Knowledge of employment legislation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Protecting the interests of all employees.

  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices

  • Able to work in a team and independently effectively

  • Knowledge of British Sign Language and/or other European languages (advantageous)

  • Experience/Knowledge of the Deaf Community (advantageous)

Beneficial:

  • Ability to communicate in British Sign Language (BSL).
  • Knowledge of Video Relay Services (VRS) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
