IMS Specialist

Compensation Data

• Salary: $75-80k/year (annual bonus eligibility)

Purpose of the position

Taking charge of the ISO administration and supervision, and overseeing the maintenance of the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) at Kalmar Ottawa site.
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Support local/global groups to ensure conformance to ISO 9001, 14001, & 45001
  • Review requirements and analyze gaps; communicate with cross-functional teams, businesses, and divisions
  • Develop IMS programs as needed for gaps and improvement projects/initiatives
  • Coordinate 3rd party ISO certification planning and audit participation
  • Provide training/guidance on ISO and Kalmar requirements
  • Participate in IMS Forum and Management Review Meetings
  • Support local management of change process and documentation

• Manage Internal Audit Program
  • Maintain content and train internal auditors
  • Create, manage, and update the audit schedule
  • Schedule internal audits
  • Mentor internal auditors
  • Create area audit checklist templates
  • Perform individual/team audits
  • Review & provide feedback on completed audit reports
  • Initiate CAR’s on trending issues
  • Communicate CAR findings (monthly) to management team

• Manage Document Control
  • Consult on creating and updating documents
  • Assist associates with Standard Work process for documentation
  • Train associates on document control system and process
  • Troubleshoot DCN system and provide feedback to site owner
  • Administer review cycles for documents (notifications)

• Manage Corrective Action Program
  • Initiate CAR’s
  • Track status of CAR’s and follow-up with responsible parties
  • Assist associates through root cause analysis process
  • Verify action plans are effective
  • Monthly report on trending issues to management team

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Environmental Management or related field preferred. 

Experience:

• Prefer (1) one year experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of Environmental laws, regulations and requirements
• Experience implementing ISO Management Systems (9001, 14001, and 45001)
• Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and/or 45001 internal audits
• ISO Internal Auditor Certification preferred
