Job Title: Information Analyst

Pay: £15.67 per hour

Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Location: Cowley, 3rd Floor, Unipart House Business Centre, Oxford, OX4 2PG

About the Trust

Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) is a world-renowned centre of clinical excellence and one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the UK. What you’ll be responsible for:

· Provide advice within the team and to the Trust as a whole in the interrogation, analysis and presentation of data from all of the relevant sources within the Trust. This will include assisting with the understanding of local and national datasets, definitions and systems e.g., NHS Data Dictionary and Commissioning Data Sets (CDS)

· Respond to Ad-Hoc requests for information from end users. This will involve communication with the user to understand their requirements. The post holder will be able to explain their results with confidence to end users with a suitable level of detail. This work will need to be managed to ensure a timely response to all requests, with appropriate escalation within the department when issues arise.

· Support on specified areas of the performance & reporting agenda to provide operational and management reports. This will involve working closely with colleagues within that area and the wider team.

· Support routine reports and their development to be accessed directly by end users. This will primarily be done using tools such as, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau.

· Maintain robust procedure notes for all routine work, and to ensure that these are shared within the team to ensure adequate cover.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Good technical skill including SQL skills, Advanced excel, Reporting tools, like Tableau and/or PowerBI

· Analytical skills and approach

· Attention to detail and understanding of data

· Good communication skills – both verbal and in writing

· NHS data and reporting requirements knowledge (desirable)

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
