We are recruiting an Information Governance and Compliance Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Procurement and Information Services Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £29,269 - £32,076 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

An exciting opportunity has become available at Caerphilly County Borough Council for the position of Information Governance Compliance Officer. This permanent and full-time opportunity is within the Council’s multi award winning Procurement and Information Services.

Under the general direction of the Council’s Data Protection Officer / Principal Information Governance Officer, the post holder will help ensure the Council complies fully with the Data Protection and information rights legislation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills to assist with:
The creation, coordination and maintenance of evidence of data protection compliance, identifying areas that require attention. Contributing to information rights casework.

The promotion of procedures for responding to information requests to all services Council-wide.
The delivery of objectives set as a result of the Performance Development Review Process, Service
Improvement Plan and Council driven initiatives.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example A levels or NVQ Level 3.
  • Computer literate, including competence in using MS Office.
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality, particularly when dealing with sensitive subject matter
