InFrame Research Culture Project Manager
Vacancy Reference: 139749
Salary: UofG Grade 8, £48,350 - £56,021 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours p/w) and fixed term for 30 months.
The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 573 years. Today, we are one of the world's top 100 universities and ranked 13th in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Impact Rankings 2023, demonstrating that we are not only one of the best universities in the United Kingdom, but one of the best universities for the world. Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal role as Project Manager of a large-scale multi-partner change project – ‘InFrame’ (Inclusive Framework for Research Leadership). Housed within the Research Culture & Researcher Development portfolio at the University of Glasgow, the post-holder will work to coordinate a cross-university partnership (working with the Universities of Edinburgh and St Andrews) and play a leading role in the delivery of a 2-year strategic Research Culture enhancement project funded by Wellcome. Through this they will support each partner university’s ambitions to foster a positive Research Culture. This is an opportunity for a strategic manager to deliver this important project, and additionally to share best practice in Research Culture enhancement for the development of a sector level approach.
Working in partnership with the InFrame Project Lead at Glasgow (Head of Research Culture & Researcher Development) the postholder will work closely with Research Culture Leads, Research Culture communities and networks, and project stakeholders across all three universities ensuring seamless coordination of the project. They will operate at a senior level, influencing the strategic direction of the project as well as being responsible for operational delivery and administrative management of the Project Team.
Please contact Dr Kay Guccione (kay.guccione@glasgow.ac.uk), Head of Research Culture & Researcher Development for more information about this post.
Further detail
The post sits within the Research Culture & Researcher Development portfolio, a multi-disciplinary education-focused team that supports over 6000 total researchers including all the University’s postgraduate researchers, research staff, and academic leaders. We believe that research thrives when researchers feel that they are part of an engaging, fair, and collegial environment in which people help each other to succeed. This post aims to support a step-change in making the University of Glasgow the best place to develop a research career, through delivery of strategic projects across the institution. Research Culture at the university of Glasgow encompasses a broad spectrum of initiatives, policies, activities and events, clustered into 5 priority areas of activity: Career Development, Collegiality, Open Research, Research Integrity, and Research Recognition. Across Research & Innovation Services we work in partnership with the Vice Principal (Research & Knowledge Exchange) and with colleagues in many Central Services as well as staff in each of Glasgow’s four academic Colleges. The post holder will work in line with the project ethos and the Glasgow Professional Behavioural Framework, and the University of Glasgow Values.
Within the Research Services Directorate we take a collaborative approach, working together across the areas of Research Culture and researcher development, in research impact, knowledge exchange, communications and engagement, in research governance, policy and integrity and in strategic research development. These areas of focus are enhanced through the Mazumdar-Shaw Advanced Research Centre (ARC) which provides a unique creative and collaborative space to bring people together..
