Insurance Claims Advisor

Salary: 24,380 - 25,505 per annum

Location: Portsmouth / Hybrid(After probation period)

Hours: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm

Our client, based in Portsmouth, believes that the cornerstone of their growth and success lies in their dedicated workforce. They are seeking an enthusiastic and seasoned Customer Service professional to become part of their team during an exciting phase of expansion.

As a Household Claims Customer Service Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to deliver top-notch customer service to clients in times of need. Your role involves efficiently and accurately assisting policyholders with their claims, aligning with the terms of their coverage. This requires a vigilant consideration of the interests of both our client and the customers.

Previous Household Insurance Claims experience is required for this role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Precisely evaluating claims according to policy terms and conditions, ensuring prompt processing of valid claims and timely communication with customers not covered under the policy.
  • Demonstrating empathy towards customers by understanding their needs and approaching each interaction with a compassionate mindset.
  • Identifying opportunities to recover funds from other insurers and detecting potential fraudulent claims during the assessment process, always prioritizing our client's best interests.
  • Attempting to resolve disputes with customers, seeking advice from colleagues when necessary, and proactively presenting solutions to problems while upholding the principles of Treating Customers Fairly. Unresolved complaints should be promptly escalated to our Customer Care Team.
  • Ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements throughout all aspects of the role.

Success in this role requires:

  • Previous experience in Household Claims Handling.
  • Strong organisational skills under pressure, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to multitask effectively, seamlessly switching between telephone calls and customer emails.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy.
