Position Summary

Cancer can destroy the lives of people, their family with a huge impact on the resources of local health economies. However, the right treatment can allow these people to live their lives to the full & allow the health economy to be more efficient & effective.

BMS has a very exciting & extensive pipeline in Haematology-Oncology where we will launch new indications over the next 5 years in Haematology and Oncology. We will make a real difference to the lives of people like you & me and those who face a diagnosis of cancer.

There exists an exciting opportunity to join the established and evolving Haem-Oncology Team within BMS’s Haem- Oncology Business Unit with the aim of improving & transforming the lives of patients, their families & the NHS and HSE.

We are seeking exceptional people to join the team; you will need to demonstrate; Performance Leadership to drive the successful in line and launches of our pipeline of products into a highly competitive market.

Role profile

  • This is a newly created Integrated Healthcare role, fully responsible and accountable for strategic account planning, sales execution and local market access. This will be a highly autonomous role in which you will be expected to take full responsibility for the planning and delivery of your sales and access objectives.
  • You will draw on the cross functional team members to capitalise on their insight and experience, adopting a “One team” mindset. However, you will view your territory as your own business. You will lead on local business strategy and will have significant decision-making responsibility that will require a high degree of business acumen, allied to a deep understanding of our therapy area and evolving NHS and HSE, SMC environment.
  • You will you engage and deliver a true omnichannel experience for customers, proactively deploying appropriate channels and marketing mix to deliver a sequential tailored sales call, using customer experience data and digital asset analysis to target commercial performance with right HCPs at the right time through the right channel.

Field based role

Location/Territory: North East and Yorkshire (Hull, Sheffield, Leeds and Newcastle)

Reports to: Senior Sales Manager (Haematology-Oncology) - North UK & Ireland

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Experience in Oncology market
  • Understanding of the UK / Ireland healthcare system and pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated success in pharmaceutical sales and/or local market access
  • Proven track record of Key Account Management and/or market access
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Able to work in a hybrid (virtual and F2F) capacity with customers to drive outputs
  • Degree educated (or equivalent)
  • ABPI qualification (or equivalent)
  • IPHA code of practice certified (or equivalent)
  • Computer literate –in Word, Excel, Email, Internet, and ability to pick up new in-house systems
  • Current UK/Ireland driving license (or equivalent)
  • Living on or near territory

Desirable

  • Launching new indications via spec comms or cancer alliances reimbursed low-vol/high-cost products
  • Negotiation skills or advance consultative selling model skill sets.
