ABOUT THE ROLE Were looking for an Intensive Housing Management Officer (IHMO) to carry out supported Housing Management duties in our service. You will be responsible for maintaining social contact and company to enhance quality of life, enhance personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy, and improving financial independence and economic wellbeing to support our residents and participants back into the community. Biscot House delivers residential support to single men aged 18 and over. The service has 9 units of accommodation providing support for men with specific needs such as; Mental Health, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, substance use, ex offenders. Staff and residents work together to create a fun, vibrant, Service-User focused home in which to develop vital skills and confidence to live in the community. Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 ABOUT YOU We are looking for someone who is driven to provide high quality care and support to others. OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Act as a Key Worker, and support residents and participants in various activities, such as support plans. Participate in and encourage R&Ps to participate in the running and development of projects, social enterprise initiatives, raining, volunteering and work experience. Ensure our R&Ps understand their rights and responsibilities and have access to the right tools and resources. Carry out regular occupancy checks such as managing health and safety, and ensuring correct occupancy numbers. Tenancy Management, ensuring sign ups to tenancies, licencing agreements, taking payments, general living support. Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships. Attend appointments with residents when required. Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis. Admin will vary. Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. KEY CRITERIA What we are looking for: Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours or a good understanding of the sector IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others What we would like, but not essential: Appropriate professional qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice or professional equivalent Experience of providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals Please refer to the JDPS attached for more details on the vacancy and our requirements/key criteria.
