This post has been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, as part of our Intergenerational Project, Friends2Gether (F2G). We are half-way through a 3 year Project. Working with older and younger people, our intention is to bring them together in purposeful, mutually beneficial activities. Our aim is to promote greater understanding and respect between generations, building relationships between those that live and learn in the same community – but may not have the opportunity to get together. Based within our Aylesbury Premises we have many opportunities for engagement from music to cooking to digital and technology. We also offer F2G opportunities in Chesham and Wycombe.
The Friends-2-Gether project aims to improve physical and mental health, decrease social isolation, increase sense of belonging, self-esteem, and wellbeing, whilst also improving social, emotional and employability skills. By providing a wide range of activities such as our Media Launchpad we hope to increase cooperation, interaction and exchange between people of different generations enabling them to share their talents and resources and support each other in relationships that benefit all involved.
