Description
- Oversight and management of the production of the statutory financial statements comprising income & expenditure account, statement of comprehensive income, Balance Sheet & Cash flow.
- Leading a team of 6 in the finance department
- Prepare regular in year management accounts to inform executive of financial performance.
- Member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Provide a strategic vision for the future development of the service to enable our client to meet its future challenges, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strive for continuing system improvements to increase the efficiency of working practices, reduce operating costs and improve provision of data and the data quality.
- Provide professional advice and leadership in shaping robust, transparent, efficient, and effective accounting and support systems that support the cost-effective development and delivery of strategy and business plans.
- Drive the budget preparation in collaboration with senior leaders.
- Ensure in year re-forecasting after each quarter to ensure ongoing financial awareness to deliver a balanced budget.
- Prepare and agree a 3-year financial plan.
The main parts of the role we'd be looking to be covered are dealing with year end, audit (help lead the audit), tracking spend (staffing, agency costs, placements), key efficiencies, management accounts.
Profile
A successful Interim Head of Finance should have:
- Professional finance or accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a finance leadership, and team management, within a multi-site/ not-for-profit environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Experienced in audit liaison, year end close and monthly management account preparation.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
