Interim Own Brand Manager

ZD are very exciting to be working with wholesale client in the medical/healthcare industry, We are looking for an experienced Own Brand expert to develop the Own Brand proposition, find best sources and develop a sourcing and product roadmap.

Work with clinical and export experts to ensure that the range remains future focussed and is suitable for all of the markets where they trade in.

Scope of Work/Objectives

• Working closely with the Own Brand clinical expert, agree a product strategy for the Own Brand ranges
• Identifying strategic sourcing partners, developing joint business plans and mutually profitable growth
• Establish guidelines to ensure adherence
• Collaborate with the Own Brand clinical expert and the head of category, develop ideal range (remove duplication/identify gaps) and introduce regular range review to ensure relevance
• Complete benchmarking (UK and Europe) to ensure pricing and quality is consistent with brand value
• Collaborate with the marketing team to maximise brand value through targeted marketing strategy
• Develop a product development process to include detailed briefs
• Resource/re-engineer existing products that currently sit outside of brand quality/affordability strategy

Europe Opportunity (In collaboration with the Export Manager)

• Identify different range requirements (regulatory and preference)
• Identify crossover products with no differentiation for quick wins
• Understand the role and positioning of Own Brands in Europe

Skills Required:

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Expert in Own Brand development, ideally within a high sky count, highly regulated product area eg healthcare, medical etc
• Confidence in relationship building with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
• Strong commercial acumen
• Proficient in understanding systems

Experience Required:

• Previous experience in brand proposition development
