This position offers the unique chance to work closely with a team of seasoned professionals, including an Associate Director and Senior Designer, ensuring your projects reflect the highest standards of both technical and creative excellence. In this role, you will immerse yourself in diverse aspects of interior design. From producing detailed furniture and finishes schedules to sourcing reference materials, you'll be at the forefront of transforming spaces. You'll engage in creating comprehensive drawing packages for both schematic and detailed stages and develop basic concept work using a range of media. Your enthusiasm for seeking external inspiration will be a key asset.
Project management is a significant part of this role. You will oversee basic project communication, ensuring seamless interaction with contractors and the design & construction team. Your skills in Adobe InDesign will come in handy as you assist in assembling engaging presentations.
Being a proactive team member, you'll embrace opportunities for feedback and maintain a positive attitude, supporting company-wide initiatives. Your ability to foster client relationships will be crucial as you'll respond positively to clients and consultants and support in client presentations and meetings.
Understanding and recognizing the importance of project budgets is essential. You'll also develop your knowledge of project financials, adding an important skill to your repertoire.
What does it take to excel in this role? A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline is a must. Your experience should include working on Concept, Schematic, and/or Detailed stages in interior design projects. You're a creative thinker, able to communicate concepts quickly and effectively. Your attention to detail should be second to none, coupled with advanced software skills in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other 3D software. Knowledge of Revit would be a bonus.
Your basic understanding of materials and their application, combined with excellent communication and organizational skills, will help you liaise effectively with suppliers. Being a team player is crucial, as is having a proactive work ethic. Your keenness to learn and develop, along with a genuine interest in design, will make you an ideal candidate for this role.
