We have up to ten Intern places available across our Finance teams with roles covering the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Business Process and Finance Transformation; Executive Reward; Finance Business Partnering; Procurement; Internal Audit; Corporate Development and Treasury. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as you’ll be mentored to help you make the most of the 4-6-week programme. During your internship, you will gain valuable hands-on experience to build your CV to stand out with future employers, such as Pearson. You may apply to one or more of these roles.
About the Corporate Development Internship
Corporate Development is a small, high-profile team, reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer and responsible for:
setting the M&A strategy and managing all acquisitions, disposals (end-to-end)
supporting on corporate finance matters (e.g. shareholder returns, defence & activism).
We have a significant amount of exposure to the Pearson CEO, CFO and other Board directors, and we work very closely with the Pearson Executive team and senior management in all our business units, together with a central Deal Operations team who drive integration and separation activities resulting from our transactions.
Key requirements
Second or final year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business or a related field.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial analysis and modelling.
Excellent research skills, with the ability to gather, analyse, and synthesize information from various sources.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, can present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Self-starter, detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritises effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Prior internship experience in investment banking, M&A / corporate finance advisory, strategy consulting, or related fields is a plus.
Expected to be in the office ~2 to 3x a week on specific days.

This is a 4-6-week internship programme, commencing Monday 3 June 2024 . You will be paid for the duration of your internship at a pro-rata salary of £25,642.
Submission deadline Monday 8 April 2024, or once enough candidates have applied . Assessment centre Friday 19 April 2024 in our London office (80 Strand), followed by final interviews in the week commencing 22 April.
