We have a new and exciting new vacancy for a n Internal Communications Lead to partner with our engineering function to join us at AWE Nuclear Security Technologies.
Location : Hybrid and flexible working , with o ur offices b ased in Aldermaston RG7 4PR. We’ll need you on site once a week and for ad hoc events.
Salary range starts at: £ 50 ,000 - negotiable with experience and skills .

As a talented Internal Communications Lead , you’ll be a valued member of the Corporate Affairs team supporting the successful delivery of our m ission , while working directly day-to-day with our world-class Engineering Function.
Our team works with colleagues within the function s , helping to achieve our business change objectives .
Providing expert communications and engagement advice to senior stakeholders is a key part of this role .
We’ll ask you to shape and analyse insight and implement your plans for critical communications to a wide range of audiences.
A typical day for a n Internal Communications Lead could look like this :
- Listening and understanding the needs of senior leader s and extract ing insights about the behaviour change required on each project , activity or campaign.
- Develop ing communications objectives that deliver real change , across multiple internal channels .
- Align ing your Internal Communications plans with our Corporate Business Plan objectives , and corporate narrative.
- Writing , producing or curating engaging , multimedia content that takes full advantage of our internal channels to reach all audiences.
- Continually a nalysing and optimising the effectiveness of your plans.
- Using strong project management skills as you identify and overcome any obstacles.
We’d like you to demonstrate some , or all, of these skills and experience :
- Able to build great relationships
- Effective listening, with a flair for influencing, supporting and providing solid communications advice to senior management, as well as colleagues at every level.
- Strategic communication plan development and implementation
- Innovative and knowledgeable i n producing engaging multimedia content including strong writing and editing skills.
- Analytical skills to draw insight and implement change for continuous improvement.
- Passionate b rand c hampion - advocating for our recently renewed corporate brand.
- Experience of developing and implementing business change objectives .
- As part of the Corporate Affairs on-call team, effectively responding to emergency and business continuity situations.
- Well- rounded understanding of theory, development and application of Internal Communications.
