The Division
Under the leadership of the Director of Business Development & Marketing (BD & M), the department provides a broad range of support to the wider firm across Business Development, Bids, Marketing, Communications and Events, comprising 15 members in total.
The Role
This is a brand new role, created to work closely with the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, Director of Business Development & Marketing, Senior Leadership Team, colleagues in HR and other Business Service teams to communicate our corporate strategy and values internally, and work in partnership to create internal comms plans for key activities across the business. This will be a standalone internal comms role, expected to own all copywriting and project management responsibilities. Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager you will support the delivery of the firms’ strategy, measure & grow internal comms channels and promote a consistent tone of voice. You will help enable colleagues to feel informed and connected with the firm, supporting our motivated teams strategic objective and helping us to grow the employer brand.
Main Responsibilities
- Write high quality creative copy as well as editing and proof reading others copy to ensure consistency and effective communication of key messages in line with the firms strategy and values
- Upskill and train others throughout the business to write effective Internal Communications and coaching them to create internal comms plans
- Work in partnership with the projects team to design comms plan, supporting with key messages, channels and schedule
- Create comms plans for key corporate comms initiatives and plan content for Senior Leadership Team’s quarterly tea breaks
- Work with Senior Leadership Team to articulate and deliver key messages for large changes in the business
- Create internal comms strategy to engage all employees, in line with the firms wider corporate strategy
- Work in partnership with the HR team on internal campaigns, employer branding campaigns and talent acquisition/retention initiatives
- Work in partnership with employee network groups to support communication of initiatives
Skills
- Ability to work effectively and productively with internal stakeholders at all levels
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans
- Excellent copy writing, proof reading and editing skills
- Manage multiple projects and tasks effectively, with strong organisational skills
- Be able to analyse data and provide insights to inform communication strategies
- Ability to use own initiative to progress work
- Great time-management skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to engage at all levels
- Ability to align key messages to strategic pillars and company values
- Ability to apply an organisations tone of voice to all types of communication
Experience
- Significant experience in an internal focussed senior communications role
- Demonstrable track record in developing and managing impactful brand and communications campaigns and activities
- A strong understanding of brand and corporate identity, with experience of acting as a brand champion
- Experience creating internal comms plans and delivering campaigns against a plan
- Eperience with Microsoft communications tools and channels (SharePoint, Office, Teams, Engage etc.)
- Experience of building and developing relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Experience of working directly with senior leadership translating key messages in to effective communication for internal teams
- Experience advising on internal comms strategies for change projects
- Experience reporting against engagement metrics to demonstrate value of internal comms channels
- Experience with change management initiatives, taking a leading role in the communication planning.
