Starting Salary: £48,336 with the opportunity to earn £50,810
Bonus: Up to 10% base salary per annum, based on achievement of Company targets and personal performance.
Working Pattern: Days (37 hours per week, typical hours are 07:30 – 15:40 or 08:10 – 16:20)
Location: Sellafield, West Cumbria or Risley, Warrington (delete where appropriate)


What will the successful candidate be doing:

These roles support the delivery of the Sellafield Ltd Communications and Stakeholder Engagement strategy.

The first role forms part of a newly created, dedicated Internal Communications support function to the Site Management directorate.

Site Management brings together all the parts of the Sellafield site that keep the show on the road. There are around 4700 people in the directorate, almost half of the total Sellafield Ltd workforce, providing the facilities, infrastructure, engineering and maintenance, analytical services and safety services that we need to keep the site running.

The second role supports our Information and Communications Technology team.
This team brings together our IT, Cyber Security and Information Assurance and Digital capabilities to help deliver the ICT the business needs, now and in the future. There are around 400 people in the directorate, along with a sizeable supply chain contingent across 12 key contracts.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Skills

  • Ability to develop and execute communication and engagement plans to support Operations, and other areas of the business, as required.
  • Be able to source, coordinate and produce consistent communication messaging for internal and external stakeholder relationship holders.
  • Create and maintain communications material including briefing material, presentations, intranet page etc.
  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance to the business on communication issues and opportunities.
  • Contribute to directorate plans, reviews and prioritisation activities.
  • Support the provision of emergency response communications as part of the Emergency Duty Team responsibilities.
  • Experience in communications, including demonstrable experience of internal engagement techniques.
  • Confidence and competence to advise and influence at a senior leadership level.
  • First-hand knowledge of change communications principles, techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent presentational, writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to clarify and simplify complex issues and technical subject matter.
  • Excellent relationship skills.
  • Sound understanding of business strategy.
  • Strong planning, scheduling and prioritising capabilities.
  • Strong event management capability and experience.
  • Ability to develop and execute communication and engagement plans to support Operations/ICT, and other areas of the business, as required.

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant professional accreditation/qualification or equivalent experience.
