Job description

Our client are an established, well known Manufacturing company and are looking for an Internal Sales Executive to join their team, based at their site in Smethwick.

The purpose of the role is to manage opportunities, and retain and grow revenues across an agreed set of existing accounts; be the single point of contact for all inbound and outbound sales enquiries for this group of customers and where appropriate support the field based sales team.

Duties include:

· Retain and grow revenue in line with business growth targets against an assigned set of accounts

· Build and execute a contact strategy for each account based upon their opportunity to grow profitably with the group

· Build and execute an account plan for each account based upon both our and the accounts requirements

· Build strong relationships with decision makers across the accounts

· Act as a single point of contact for sales queries or issues, and liaise with the relevant internal department(s) to bring them to a swift conclusion

· Respond to inbound sales enquiries quickly liaising with the relevant team to win new business

· Proactively identify new business opportunities across the account base and work with the relevant internal team to win the business

· Achievement of all targets and KPIs

· Conduct / support as required, desk based research on potential growth accounts, identifying organisations and relevant contact points for either direct approach or support by the external sales team.

· Cold calling of self-generated contacts and opportunity accounts, as well as for target lists generated by marketing campaigns and acquired target lists

· Develop the skills and knowledge required to sell the full portfolio of products.

· Manage all opportunities & customer contact effectively via the CRM system.

· Maximise revenue by cross and up selling to maximise group profits

· Take responsibility for building and maintaining industry and competitor knowledge, sharing knowledge with the wider team as appropriate with suggestions on new product development

· Provide support to field based sales team as and when required and approved by Sales Management.

· Account visit a defined number of the key accounts on a quarterly basis where appropriate

· Prepare quotations based upon company pricing structure/policy and negotiate with customers, ensuring appropriate margins are achieved.

· To liaise with production concerning viability of new sections, lead times, delivery details, machine availability, manufacturing programmes etc.

· Work with Group Finance and Credit Control to ensure that customer payments are received on agreed dates.

· Understand customer needs, use their needs to influence our market share and margins.

· Provide pipeline information on customer markets as and when required.

· Prepare detailed monthly customer reports.

· Any other duties within the capability of the job holder.

· Proven track record of achieving targets and meeting KPI’s

· Ability to analyse customer needs and recommend solutions which meet those needs

· Excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload

· Ability to work on own initiative

· Able to handle account issues in a patient and friendly manner

· Understands manufacturing processes and key cost drivers

· Strong Negotiation skills.

· Strong commercial acumen.
