Job description

About the role:

The International Rights Manger is a key position within Tate Publishing, with responsibility for selling rights and co-editions to business partners internationally in order to maximise intellectual properties and profits for Tate Enterprises. You will be responsible for all sales both to trade publishers (adult and children’s) and to museum/gallery publishers worldwide, including managing sub-agents in some territories. The role will involve international travel to key book fairs.
To be the successful applicant you will be a self-motivated individual with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in co-edition and rights sales for an illustrated book publisher. You will thrive on working to targets and your commercial acumen will mean that exploiting all opportunities to grow the business comes naturally to you. You will also possess a good understanding of copyright law.

Our ideal candidate:

You will have proven organisation and time-management skills and first-class communication and negotiation skills. You will have been involved previously in managing the process from negotiation through to delivery and invoicing, and will be adept at liaising with colleagues across Editorial and Production to ensure the smooth-running of co-edition printings.
Enthusiasm for working as part of a small team is a must for this busy and varied role with a high level of responsibility and independence.

This role will be for a fixed term maternity cover up to 12 months, ideal start date mid-June 2024. At Tate we support flexible working where possible as part of our Blended Working Policy, with an average of 50% on- and off-site working each week. This role is advertised as full-time, but we are open to discussions around the role being offered on a part-time basis.
Tate Enterprises Limited is the trading arm of Tate. We strive to ensure our opportunities are open to all – you can read more about our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion here.

  • Generous discounts in our shops and restaurants
  • Access to a wide range of training
  • Long service awards
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Tate Benefits employee discount scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme

As a member of the Disability Confident Scheme, we interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for a job vacancy.

Tate Enterprises Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tate and covenants all profits to support Tate’s work and collection.
