Job description

Summary:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a financially skilled Advisor to join the Investigation and Enforcement team at the Regulator of Social Housing. 

This role focuses on cases where there is a likelihood of a failure and potential serious issues with delivering the outcomes of our Regulatory Standards, where you will provide support to the Senior Advisor case leads, to develop the resolution strategy and working across the I&E team to implement agreed strategies to resolve these.

 

Job Description:

You will deal directly with providers, advisors and funders, at senior officer and board level and working across all aspects of the cases, developing and maintaining constructive relationships with non-compliant registered providers and their officers, leading on challenging conversations to drive positive changes and resolve identified issues.

You will carry out thorough and detailed analysis and evaluation of information about performance to determine an appropriate regulatory response. You will work with colleagues, including the in-house legal team, to agree the appropriate use of statutory enforcement or intervention powers ensuring they are employed effectively and proportionately so that the RSH's interests are protected in their use.

 

Responsibilities:

As the successful candidate, you will have strong analytical and evaluation skills, with experience of exercising judgement to meet conclusions.  You should also have good understanding of the principles of risk management, as well as of the legal and governance framework in with RSH operates as a regulator.  Working knowledge of the strategy, operations and key processes of registered providers, particularly in relation to governance, management and financial control, is also key.

Location

We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working.

This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Our Manchester office will be relocating during 2024/25, however will remain within the city centre. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and staff can benefit from working from home for part of their hours. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

 

Interviews

Interviews are expected to take place w/c 20th May and will be held via Microsoft Teams.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
