Position: Investment & Licensing Manager (Science & Engineering)
Package: GBP55,000 – GBP72,000 pa (DOE) + Annual Bonus, Commission, Pension, Dental Plan, Private Medical Insurance, Optional Hybrid Working or Remote Working, Onsite Parking & Annual Leave.
Core Hours: Mon Friday, 09 00 (start and finish times are flexible)

My client is a leading Technology Transfer Office within Manchester that aims to capture and evaluate new inventions coming out of their associated University. They effectively assess innovations and opportunities to determine which have the greatest chance of generating future social plus economic impact.
The client is wanting to complement its Business Development, Investment & Licensing team ( BDI&L ) by recruiting 2x Investment & Licensing Manager s, one of which holding a Senior title by way of experience.
Reporting to the Head of Investment & Licensing (Science & Engineering), the successful candidates will be entrepreneurial in nature and responsible for:
Driving commercial transaction (within the field of Science & Engineering) Providing market and customer intelligence to relevant internal personnel to support business case development and on–going management of the asset portfolio. Working closely with academic founders and other internal/external partners, managing relationships to ensure that opportunities are deal–ready . Contributing to the development of commercial tools (short term visions of the business plans, investment prospectuses, ROI/valuation models, pitch decks, tech data sheets, market analysis and other sales collateral) necessary to transact the opportunities with licensees and/or investors. Continually maintaining/updating relevant databases of UK & international sources of investment finance. Developing strong relationships with key investors/potential commercial partners. As it is ultimately the BDI&L team responsibility for quantifying the potential value of an opportunity and defining optimal deal structure/terms (with support from the internal Legal and Finance teams), candidates must possess:
A strong background within the field of Science & Engineering Be experienced in deal making . Have the ability to create value from innovation and intellectual property. Possess experience working within a target driven business environment. A degree in a physical science or engineering related subject or similar level 6 qualification (England, Wales and N.Ireland Qualification levels) or equivalent is essential for this role. A post graduate qualification in a scientific or business–related discipline would be advantageous.
