Post: Irish Community Support Worker
Salary: SCP 12-17 £26,421 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week.
Contract: Permanent
Leeds Irish Health and Homes (LIHH) has been providing services to the Irish and wider community in Leeds since 1996. Our organisation aims are to improve the quality of life of everyone we work with ensuring people have the right support and opportunities to:

- Access suitable housing
- Continue their journey to recovery in mental Health and thrive
- Look after their own wellbeing, including their physical and mental health
- Connect with others, take part in social activities, and have strong networks of friendship, kinship, and community
We are looking to recruit a Community Support Worker to join our small and friendly team in the Irish Community Support Service.
The Irish Community Support Service provides a wide range of service responses to those most in need in our community, including the elderly, those experiencing physical and mental health challenges, financial pressures, substance misuse issues, homelessness and social and cultural isolation. Our service also extends to Irish people, people of Irish Heritage and non-Irish people in the community.
We require you to:
- Work as part of the Irish Community Support Team in the delivery of services including managing a caseload and facilitation of groups and activities.
- Provide client focussed work to empower individuals to engage with services and activities to improve their wellbeing.
- Be responsible for collating information to meet monitoring and evaluation requirements.
We need you to have:
- An outstanding attitude and track record in supporting vulnerable people.
- A passion for community development work.
- Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.
