IT Endpoint Technician
Location: 1 Mabledon Place, WC1H 9AX
We are recruiting for an additional IT Endpoint Technician. Sonic Healthcare UK has over 2,500 employees based in our own offices and in NHS hospitals.
Overall Job Purpose:
The role holder will perform first line IT desktop support and assist with a variety of technical tasks relating to the user endpoint estate including configuring and maintaining hardware such as PCs, laptops, thin clients, mobile phones and printers.
Main Duties:
To include, but not be restricted to, the following:
- Provide desktop support for issues relating to the IT endpoint infrastructure
- Manage IT helpdesk tickets assigned to the team and escalate accordingly.
- Deploy and configure new IT hardware such as PCs, laptops, thin clients, mobile phones and printers.
- Be responsible for maintaining existing hardware by troubleshooting user issues, performing upgrades and arranging repair when necessary.
- Set up new Windows user accounts in Active Directory and create new email mailboxes and distribution groups.
- Perform on-site visits to other sites as required.
• Support project work as required. • Participate in regular system patching and maintenance programme and be responsible for endpoint security tasks as required to maintain a secure infrastructure.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for all areas of responsibility.
- Respond to emergency requests for support in a timely manner and escalate appropriately.
- Work with the visiting analyser/systems engineers as required.
- Comply with local and national policies for safe, secure and confidential processing and storage of patient and other laboratory information, and to ensure compliance to relevant data protection legislation.
- Maintain an active interest in developments within the IT industry.
- Partake of any other duties as required by IT Management.
