Foundations Executive Search have been appointed to recruit an IT Manager for a dynamic sustainability and innovation organisation in Penryn, Cornwall. Offering a competitive 80,000 basic salary plus an enhanced benefits package, this role is pivotal in orchestrating the seamless operation of our clients IT and computer systems.
As the IT Manager, you will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team, building an IT team of innovators and manage 3rd party relationships to oversee all facets of IT functions across multiple company sites. Your responsibilities will span from managing networking infrastructure and budgeting to enhancing mobile communications, supporting remote/home working, and ensuring software licensing compliance. With a user base set to expand rapidly, you'll play a key role in scaling our clients IT infrastructure.
Your leadership will be instrumental in driving IT strategy, encompassing the design and implementation of new systems, infrastructures, and services. This role demands a visionary approach, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements. It's important to remain balanced, this role requires you to roll up your sleeves and be hands-on, as well as deliver strategic and commercial proposals to the board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regular updates to senior management on IT projects, strategy, and implementation progress.
- Manage the company's annual IT budget and spearhead strategic planning and execution of IT initiatives.
- Stay abreast of emerging IT trends, evaluating their potential impact on business operations, and integrating new technologies to boost efficiency.
- Collaborate with management teams to understand their technology requirements and deliver strategic IT support.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation and optimize technology resources for maximum productivity.
- Ensure optimal network performance and high availability of resources while overseeing security measures to protect network, data, and communication systems.
- Independently assess and manage IT-related risks, including cybersecurity threats and system failures, and implement robust risk mitigation strategies.
- Source and manage hardware and software requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices, fostering a secure and efficient IT environment.
- Provide day-to-day administration of IT devices and peripherals, including mobile phones, and be available for on-call duties to address critical IT issues and emergencies.
Background:
- Extensive hands-on knowledge in an enterprise grade IT environment, knowledge across cloud services, server, networks, storage and mobile communications is vital.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of leading large IT projects and infrastructure rollouts.
- Expertise in network security, data management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in team management.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously.
- Experience working closely with strategic partners and 3rd parties.
- Knowledge of forming technical teams to manage the demands of a rapidly expanding user base and business group.
