The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in IT Hardware and Software from either a sales or procurement perspective, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. They should demonstrate a deep understanding of the intricacies and dynamics within the reseller and distribution channels, recognising the significance of nurturing relationships with vendors and distributors.
The key skills required for the role are negotiation, knowledge of end-to-end buying channels, proactive management of contracts and renewals and strong communication and engagement with the infrastructure team.
THE ROLE: IT Procurement Manager
- Oversee and lead the entire IT procurement process and function
- Take charge of formulating and executing purchasing strategies
- Identify potential cost-saving measures and demonstrate proficiency in distinguishing between Capital and Operational expenditures
- Evaluate and identify key stakeholders within the organization, ensuring effective communication across various teams
- Demonstrate competence and confidence in negotiation, encompassing contracts, pricing, terms, and SLAs
- Ensure timely management of all renewal deadlines across the company and effectively handle time scales
- Conduct regular calls with suppliers to stay informed about any end-of-life kits, technologies, or components that may impact future projects
- Provide updates on stock availability and lead times
- Organize test environments and collaborate with manufacturers to trial/demo new available technology for the Infrastructure team
- Maintain regular communication with Finance teams to verify accurate internal billing and cost allocations
- Manage the entire logistics process, overseeing kit ETAs and shipments for both inbound and outbound operations.
